June 2024 Hickory Farms HOA Meeting Minutes

Judy Deng- Treasurer 

A quorum having been reached, the meeting was called to order at 7:00 

Telah moved that the April minutes be approved; Melissa seconded; motion passed. 

Old Business 

Commons Area 

Melissa reported the following: 

The planned “walk around” intended to meet with neighbors and inspect the development had been delayed.  The new tentative date is August 24 tentative at 10:00 AM. 

Grass is being maintained and other efforts are ongoing.  

A bill from “Tru-Green” was expected either electronically or through the mail.   

A quote is being sought about how much it will cost to remove the blacktop path in the lower commons and replace the path with soil.   

Treasurer’s Report 

Judy reported the following:  

All HOA dues have been paid 

The current bank statement has been posted in TEAMS. 

The current HOA Packet is in TEAMS as a word document and is ready to be reviewed. 

There is about $16,000 currently in a low-interest savings account. 

After a discussion, Judy moved that most of the money in this account be used to purchase a short-term Certificate of Deposit.  Ben seconded; the motion passed.   

New Business 

The annual meeting is tentatively scheduled for the third Tuesday in October.  Ben agreed to determine if there are any possible conflicts that might limit attendance.  

There was an informal discussion about members who were unable to attend, and the impact this had on the ability to reach a quorum. The notion of defining such members as “emeritus” was discussed as a possible solution, pending coordination and an examination of the by-laws.  Telah agreed to look-into this.  

Telah moved to adjourn; Ben seconded the motion; the motion passed. 

Meeting was adjourned at 7:30.
